This 6-session course will be focusing on some basic grammatical structure and some necessary sentence patterns that will help a new Visayan speaker communicate well with the locals. In every session, learners will be exposed to new words, phrases, local expressions and correct pronunciation of words.        

Session 1: Ang bata…Ang mga bata (The House, The Houses)

  • Learn how to replace nouns with pronouns and with singular nouns and plural nouns. 
  • A review of the basics.

Session 2: Pulong Nga Ngahulagway o “Pungway” or adjectives

  • Siya kay gwapa (She is beautiful)
  • Ang bola kay lingin (The ball is round)
  • Learn to describe things, persons, and animals using adjective words

 

Session 3: Imoha Ni? Dili! Imoha Na. (Is This Yours? No! That’s Yours.)

  • Learn how to show possession in affirmative, negative and question forms.

 

Session 4: Nagkaon/ Ningkaon/ Mukaon Ko og Lechon. (I (Am) Eating/Ate/Will Eat Lechon)

  • Learn some common verbs and how to use them in present, past and future forms.

 

Session 5: Mata Na! Alas-Diyes Na! (Wake Up! It’s Already 10!)

  • Learn about time expressions and how to use them in affirmative, negative and question statements. 

 

Session 6: Tagpila Nang Isda? (How Much is That Fish?)

  • Learn and practice dialogues and common sentences used for shopping or renting a hotel room.

Description

Anette is a Licensed Professional Teacher from Cebu City. She graduated from Southern Leyte State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She further took her Master’s in Early Childhood Education in Cebu Technological University in Cebu City.

     For more than 5 years, she was an ESL teacher and catered instructing students from Korea, China, Japan and Pakistan. She enjoyed teaching to these foreign learners as it enabled her to gain more acquaintances and discover their characters and cultures. Nanette handled foreign students including kids, teens and adults.

            For 6 years now, she is working in Cebu City as a Public School Teacher. Proudly, she is using their Mother Tongue Based Dialect , “ Sinugbuhanong Bisaya“ which is affiliated with the Department of Education.
