Maguindanawn Language for Beginnners (6 Weeks) by Norjannah Guiabel Dalid


The Maguindanawn Language for Beginners Class is a 6-week Class that give emphasis on learning the proper sounds and accent of the Maguindanawn Language as well as simple sentence construction. At the end of the course, the student is expected to acquire the language skills needed to get along within the community of language speakers and converse with some degree of facility on common subjects about self and family.


The Course Covers:


Session 1. “Mapia Mapita Saleka”. Courteous Expressions in Greetings and Introduction.

Session 2. “ Ngain den i ulan-ulan Saguna?” Numbers, hours, months and days of the week.

Session 3. “ Saki a aden mata nin” Body parts and its functions. 

Session 4. “Su mata nin a malibpuluk” . Shapes, colors, size and characteristics.

Session 5. “Si Bai a manisan man gaid.”Commonly used adjectives to describe nouns.

Session 6. “Ilay ka, Mataw aku den”. Conversational practice.

Norjannah is a licensed Professional Teacher from Kabacan, North Cotabato. She graduated with a Bachelor in Elementary Education with Mathematics concentration at University of Southern Mindanao. She took her Master of Arts in Education at Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology.

For more than 5 years, she was a member of different Muslim Organizations She was one of the Maguindanawn translators, Regional Level, of the module in Grade I Mathematics in 2020-2021.

For 15 years now, she is working as public school teacher, using her native language “Maguindanawn” as her medium of communication with her students.
