Filipino Culture and Traits (6 Weeks)

A glimpse into Filipino culture shows how the Philippines has evolved over the centuries. The Filipino people’s beliefs, unity, connection with nature and  celebration of life are made evident in social customs. The magic of Filipinos lies in their smiles, in the countless fiestas and holidays, divinity and the cycle of life, and in the virtues of the “pakikipagkapwa tao,” which values the relationship between friends and strangers. The Filipino soul is linked to the idea of Kapwa (kindred, fellowbeings), the diversity of life in the archipelago, the vibrant colors of its folk art, and the frenzy of foreign influences rooted in Filipino culture, traditions and values are all part of this country’s appeal.
